😠 My domain names did NOT expires until two weeks from the due date and they went ahead and charged my account early. Today is Feb. 12, 2022 I called right away and ask to cancel it before expiring on Feb. 27th! I did not want the site and told Paul a supervisor, that I was not renewing the domain name and it won't expires until the 27. They still charged me and, NO, they will not refund my money, which legally is not due until Feb 27, 2022. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. IT'S FRAUD AND THIEVES.

😠 Well, as many people mentioned, if you are looking for trouble, go with them.
I Don't really understand how their ns changes will really take a very long time exceeding 48 hours sometimes, while with enom dot com it won't take more than 4 hours to fully propagate those changes. Domain transfer from them to another registrar is a serious headache that will really waste your time and your client's time. pay some extra $ with another registrar is more recommended. (try ionos .com or enom .com) and aviod this.

🔃 Domain.com is part of Newfold Digital(3*) 🔧 Services: Web HostingDomain RegistrationWebsite Builder ICANN registrar
Domain.com was for many years a straightforward domain registrar and entry-level hosting provider, founded by George DeCarlo in 1999 and later becoming part of the Newfold Digital group. For a long time it operated as a familiar brand for budget domains and simple hosting, particularly for small businesses and individual site owners in North America.
That chapter is now effectively closed. The Domain.com brand has been retired as an active storefront, and the main site redirects into NetworkSolutions.com, another long-standing registrar and hosting provider under the same corporate umbrella. New customers no longer buy services from Domain.com itself; they are funneled straight into the Network Solutions product stack, and existing Domain.com clients are essentially being served under the Network Solutions environment.
Historically, Domain.com focused on keeping the basics simple: domain registration, DNS, Linux shared hosting, WordPress hosting, SSL and a modest website builder. In its current form, those functions live on inside Network Solutions. There is still a broad domain search with low-cost TLD options, WHOIS lookup, privacy services, expiration protection and DNS management, now run through Network Solutions’ Account Manager. For former Domain.com customers managing a portfolio of domains, the day-to-day experience is largely unchanged apart from branding and interface.
On the hosting side, what used to be Domain.com’s small shared and WordPress plans has been replaced by Network Solutions’ multi-tier Linux hosting and managed WordPress line-up. Shared hosting is structured into several levels (for example Starter, Essential and Premium) that scale disk space, website count and bundled email. All plans come with unmetered bandwidth, while higher tiers add a free first-year domain and free SSL to build a more complete starter package for business sites.
Managed WordPress hosting follows a similar three-tier model aimed at entrepreneurs, growing businesses and agencies. Storage increases with each tier, the number of WordPress sites goes up, and all plans include on-demand cloud backups. Mid and top tiers add a first-year SSL certificate, automatic updates and performance tuning targeted at WordPress, making them more suitable for users who update content frequently or run multiple sites.
Another clear upgrade over the old Domain.com era is the website builder stack. Network Solutions now offers AI-assisted builders with distinct Website, Website + Marketing and eCommerce plans. These can generate layouts and draft content, integrate email marketing, handle appointment bookings and support selling on external marketplaces such as Amazon or eBay. What used to be a basic site builder behind Domain.com is now part of a fuller online-presence toolkit.
Beyond websites and hosting, the combined platform provides professional email (with larger mailbox tiers for teams), Google Workspace integration, SSL certificates across DV/OV/EV levels, malware scanning, automatic backups and a range of marketing and SEO tools. For customers who originally came to Domain.com for "everything under one roof," that idea now lives on through Network Solutions rather than through Domain.com as a distinct host.
💰 Price & Cost
As an independent brand, Domain.com no longer sets its own pricing. New sign-ups and most product changes now follow Network Solutions’ price structure. Shared hosting and WordPress plans are sold on discounted first terms with higher renewal rates, a common pattern in this market.
Shared hosting tiers are priced in the low single-digit US dollars per month for the first term, depending on the term length, then renew into higher single digits or the low-teens range. The smallest plans are aimed at one basic site with modest storage; the mid-tier increases disk space and adds more mailboxes; the top tiers add an included domain and SSL for one year, making them more cost-effective for small business websites that need a secure, branded presence from day one.
Managed WordPress hosting sits a bit above the general shared plans in price. The extra cost reflects features like on-demand backups, WordPress-tuned performance and a more application-aware support experience. For a simple brochure site, the cheapest shared hosting is usually enough; the value of WordPress plans becomes obvious when running multiple sites or relying heavily on plugins and frequent updates.
Historically, Domain.com ran with roughly a 30-day money-back guarantee on hosting (excluding domains and many add-ons). Under the current setup, the effective refund policy sits inside Network Solutions’ master service terms. A money-back window still applies to new hosting purchases, but domain registrations, SSLs and other one-time services remain non-refundable once provisioned. Annual plans cancelled in the refund period may incur processing fees, so reading the current terms before relying on the guarantee is important.
Payment methods are now those of Network Solutions: major credit and debit cards plus popular digital wallets such as PayPal and Google Pay, with Apple Pay gradually becoming available as a stored payment method. Everything is billed in US dollars, so customers outside the US effectively pay in their local currency via their bank’s conversion rate. Promotional deals change frequently, especially around long-term contracts and seasonal offers, so total ownership cost depends heavily on term length and willingness to accept higher renewal pricing.
🏢 Data Center
During its standalone life, Domain.com never publicized much detail about its infrastructure, and that has carried through into the current setup. Hosting is now delivered entirely from Network Solutions’ US-based data centers, with no region selector for Europe or Asia on standard plans. For sites targeting North American visitors, this is perfectly workable; for projects with a global audience, latency will be higher than with providers offering multiple regional locations.
Network Solutions has its platform as a cloud-style environment, with redundancy and failover across clusters instead of relying on a single server per shared-hosting account. The service includes a 99.9% uptime guarantee, daily malware scans and a performance profile tuned for typical small-business sites. Independent benchmarks over the years have generally put uptime around or slightly above that 99.9% figure, which is adequate but not exceptional compared to more performance-driven competitors.
✍️ Customer Support
The support experience that used to come under the Domain.com banner now runs entirely through Network Solutions’ support organization. Customers have access to live chat, phone support and web-based case handling, nominally available around the clock. Simple issues—billing queries, basic domain setup or straightforward DNS changes—are usually resolved relatively quickly via chat or phone.
For those who prefer self-service, the knowledge base operated by Network Solutions covers the majority of everyday tasks: changing name servers, pointing domains to hosting, configuring email clients, installing SSL certificates and deploying common apps like WordPress. The documentation is functional and reasonably detailed, though the interface and article structure feel more utilitarian than the slick, guided experiences some newer hosts provide.
More complex work, such as full site migrations, advanced WordPress debugging or multi-domain email transitions, can be handed over to paid professional services. This "do it for me" option is an advantage for non-technical customers who do not want to spend time learning the details of hosting administration. On the flip side, the consolidation into Network Solutions means former Domain.com customers are now part of a much larger support pool, with processes and response patterns that feel more corporate than boutique.
🔨 Control Panel
Domain.com’s original control panel has effectively been retired. All management now goes through the Network Solutions Account Manager and associated hosting dashboards. Instead of cPanel at the shared-hosting level, customers see a proprietary interface that combines domains, DNS, hosting, email, SSL and the website builder.
From a feature standpoint, this covers what most small site owners need. Users can:
- Manage domains and DNS (name servers, A, CNAME, MX and other records)
- Create and manage email boxes and aliases
- Upload files via FTP or a browser-based file manager
- Install WordPress and other open-source applications via one-click installers
- Access basic metrics and security tools
Managed WordPress plans add their own management layer for backups and updates, simplifying life for users who mainly care about content and plugins rather than server configuration. For everyday use, the proprietary panel is straightforward enough, but it lacks the depth and familiarity of full cPanel or Plesk for developers who want fine-grained control, SSH access or custom software stacks.
For higher-end use cases, Network Solutions offers VPS and dedicated server options that can include industry-standard control panels like Plesk or cPanel/WHM. This gives more experienced administrators a way to stay within the broader ecosystem while regaining the control they expect. Still, the path from a basic Domain.com-style shared account to a fully tuned VPS or dedicated environment is more segmented than at specialist developer-focused hosts.
🎯 Conclusion
Looked at strictly as Domain.com, the story is essentially complete: the brand is closed, the site redirects, and there is no longer a standalone product catalogue to compare. What remains is the customer base and a migration path into Network Solutions, under the broader Newfold Digital group. For former Domain.com customers who mainly needed low-cost domains and uncomplicated shared hosting, the transition is reasonably smooth. Domains, DNS, email, SSL, WordPress hosting and an integrated website builder are all still available, now through a larger and more mature platform. The benefits are clear:
- Backing from a sizable parent company with decades of experience
- A wide domain catalogue with practical management tools
- Shared and WordPress hosting backed by a 99.9% uptime guarantee
- Bundled first-year domain and SSL on higher tiers
- Multiple support channels, including live chat and phone
However, the weaknesses are just as clear. Pricing is heavily front-loaded with promotions and higher renewals. Data center locations are limited and not very transparent. The proprietary control panel is serviceable but dated in feel and lacks the openness of standard cPanel or Plesk on entry-level plans. Customers with specific performance, compliance or multi-region needs may quickly run into limitations.
In practical terms:
- If you are an existing Domain.com customer, staying within the Network Solutions environment is convenient and generally safe for small to mid-size sites, but it is wise to audit renewal costs and consider alternatives if your projects are growing.
- If you arrive via Domain.com today as a new buyer, you are effectively choosing Network Solutions from the outset. It makes sense to compare that choice directly against other mainstream hosts on long-term pricing, performance, data center options and control-panel flexibility.
Overall, Domain.com as a separate brand is now part of history. The real decision facing customers is whether Network Solutions, as the inheritor of Domain.com’s audience, offers the right balance of stability, simplicity and cost for their next project.
