📅 November 9, 2004 - Web hosting provider 1&1 Internet (oneandone.com -> ionos.com) announced on Monday that it has added a range of interactive tools and upgraded the email features for its shared hosting and managed server packages.

1&1's interactive tools, which include DynamicSiteCreator and PDF2Web Converter, enable users with little or no programming experience to create Web sites that include the latest technologies. DynamicSiteCreator helps users create Flash-animated Web sites. PDF2Web Converter allows users to convert printed materials into Web documents.
"Our new features provide 1&1 customers with the competitive advantage of a more powerful Web site," says Andreas Gauger, chairman of 1&1. "No other US Web host offers such functionality for the same price, which gives us a unique edge as well."
The email upgrades include a mailbox increase to 1GB, Symantec virus protection, spam filtering technology and the addition of IMAP advanced mail protocol, which give users remote email access.
"These enhancements allow our users to strengthen their Web presence with the latest technologies and a new level of email communication, quickly and in a cost-effective manner," says Gauger. "It's another way we're giving people more tools to create harder working Web sites."
