May 4, 2004 : Jumpline Most Reliable, Netcraft Says

📅 May 4, 2004 - According to data from research and analysis firm Netcraft (netcraft.com), Jumpline (jumpline.com ) has the most reliable Web hosting company Web site with a failed request rate of only 0.02 percent in the month of April. In second place on Netcraft's list was UK-based telco and Web hosting provider Energis (energis.co.uk). German host Komplex (komplex.net), who was rated the most reliable hosting site in March, followed in third. Both Energis and Komplex recorded failed request rates of 0.03 percent.

Secure Dog Hosting (secdog.com), InetU (inetu.com) and iPowerWeb (ipowerweb.com -> ipower.com) were ranked fourth through sixth. New York Internet (nyi.net), 1&1 (oneandone.com -> ionos.com), Rackspace Managed Hosting (rackspace.com ) and seeweb (seeweb.it ) rounded out the top 10.
According to Netcraft, 5 of the top 10 sites were running on Linux, the first time that has happened since it began measuring the performance of Web hosting company sites. FreeBSD has been the most commonly run platform in the top 10.
Netcraft's data is based its measurement of 50 leading Web hosting company Web sites for the month of April. The performance measurements are made every fifteen minutes from four separate points around the Internet, and averages are calculated over the immediately preceding 24-hour period.
