📅 January 25, 2005 - Web hosting provider 1&1 Internet (oneandone.com -> ionos.com) announced on Monday that it has launched "1&1 Test Drive 2005," a promotion that gives new and existing 1&1 customers six free months of its BusinessPro hosting plan with no additional obligations. The company said the promotion, introduced on January 3, 2005, has already attracted 6,000 customers.

1&1's BusinessPro package comes with a top-level domain name, 2 GB of Web space, 50 GB of monthly transfer volume, 500 email accounts, Virus Guard and Spam Guard, 1&1 Webmail and a 1&1 MySQL database. Other features include In2site Live Dialogue, 1&1 WebElements, 1&1 Newsletter tool, PDF2Web Creator and a software productivity suite.
"The overwhelming popularity of the Test Drive offer clearly demonstrates the need among SMB's for comprehensive and user-friendly Web hosting packages, which is exactly what 1&1 provides," says Andreas Gauger, chairman of the board for 1&1 Internet.
