😠 I run a Sven-Coop server, an old mod for Half-Life 1 that lets players play hundreds of user created levels as well as the core Half-Life content with other people. Sven has tons of content, compatible mods and player models going back to 1998. The main limitation with these old Half-Life games is that they require a secondary file server for decent file transfer speeds. I was initially attracted to this company because their rates were unbeatable. They claimed unlimited storage and unlimited bandwidth. Similar services online seemed to charge around 40-50 dollars for similar plans and were mired in deceptive manipulative advertisement.
This company has a plan for 4 dollars and is called their Lite plan. It seemed too good to be true and perhaps it was. For the most part the service worked and was stable. I used Filezilla to transfer files. I run a heavily modded Sven server and some of the mods I was using was requiring me to drastically increase the amount of data that [read more...]

😠 IM still hosting with them but privacy is terrible. I will be quitting soon, my contract is expiring. Nfoservers.com also hosted chris gates aka vermont (super lta vandal administraor on simple.wikipedoia), naleksuh.com, jason howard's 873gear.com, all of these people have encrypoted illicit, illegal files hidden in their subdomains. They are available for anybody with a pasword. When we tried to have nfoservers.com remove them, they gave us attitute and refused to do it, same with crappy, personal attack site by convicted child sexual offender sam sloan's anusha.com

😁 Have been hosting various Rust servers with NFO since late 2017, haven't got a bad thing to say about them. Great performance for their dedicated boxes. Manage to run multiple Rust servers with no performance hit, they have excellent DDOS protection and are very fast with their support responses.
Their prices may appear higher than some competitors, but let me tell you, you get what you pay for and they are certainly the best option out there!

😠 Bought a minecraft server awhile back, and had constant performance issues. Had plenty of memory but the CPU power was very lack luster, and caused the server to slow down even with 3-5 users on the server. Was refused a refund, and was recommended that I lower the view distance, which didn't even help at all. I would stay away from them, they have a strict no refund policy, and their servers are quite slow.

😠 NFOservers have fairly decent ddos protection which is definitely something people look for when hosting. We hosted our own Rust server a few months ago and were pretty okay with them so we decided pay for three servers and built a community. We have lots of people that look forward to playing each week that we wipe. My husband has put countless hours into modifying the server files to be perfect. He won't sleep until he fixes something that's bothering him.
When we tried to pay recently for our 2nd month we tried using my card from NY, and it wouldn't go through so then we attempted to pay for the server using my husband's Canadian card. Their third party risk assessment company flagged us as highest possible risk due to the change in card usage (we assume) and John, the CEO is absolutely refusing to help us with figuring out why it's blocking us and told us to choose another host. 😠 Everything was okay the first month. I spoke with the ceo the second month John. He moved me to a e3v6 machine cause i had a problems with lag and disconnected players. Everything went good for about another month. Then I started to grow and got around 30 to 50 people on per server all day. I went to bed one night to wake up to both servers down again and over 50 messages from people. I checked logs and sent a email to John. They denied knowing anything. I saw in logs they moved me back to another e3v3 machine. I reinstalled oxide and the servers were again laggy. I complained and they said they would forward my message a lie cause Johnm always talked to me. Then when I got upset the shut my machine off and gave me my money. They locked me out not allowing me to get back ups or my site. I had to redo it all and learned to keep backups on a remote or different machine. John is dog water and I would not recommend this service to anyone. I am now at game server kings and could not be [read more...]

😁 Have been using NFO for over 6 years. I have had all types of servers with them, voice, game: battlefield, minecraft, and many others. They have always been great on the price and service they offer. I have nothing but good things to say about them. I will continue to use them as long as they are around.

😁 I can't believe NFO has a 2.4 stars out of 10 on here. I'm here to try and correct that.
I hosted a Minecraft server with NFO between 2011 and 2014, and now I've been hosting another going on a year now. Specifically the Seattle location both times. I have nothing but good things to say about them. I've never had a problem with the service at all. Everything worked as expected from the order page all the way to setting up my VM. Zero percent of my server's downtime was ever NFO's fault, and from the horror stories I've heard about other hosts, that's saying a lot.
The few times I chose to use their help desk for general assistance with Linux, not even stuff specific to their service, I always got someone to reply within a few hours and help me through what I was trying to do. Never a scripted response. I don't even have to go through a screening process talking to robots, which is definitely a plus in this century.

😠 Worst server experience ever. Won't issue a refund due to many issues related to servers not running properly because of there "policy". Plugins don't work on them causing the servers to crash constantly.

😞 We have rented a full machine from NFO for about 4 years now and our hardware is getting outdated compared to their current packages. I started by making a ticket to request a price adjustment on the bill, this was their reply:

As you noticed, an E3-1270v3 machine would be far more capable than what you have: Perhaps 30% faster, with double the RAM, double the hard drive space, and a larger SSD. We would certainly be able to assist with moving your existing IP address over, as well.""
They are very helpful when it comes to new machines and upgrades, but loyal subscribers like myself are being forced to overpay on slower machines or pay top dollar to upgrade.
This is really just a warning for long term users. If you plan to keep the service for more than a year, you might want to look somewhere else.
May change this review if I'm able to work out a deal with John (CEO of NFO).

😁 We've been with them for over 2 years have nothing but good things to say about NFO.They are always great through their support and take good care of you. We have one dedicated server and two game servers, each have great performance and DDOS protection (unfortunately had to experience once, so I know it works well).
Their control panel is admittingly a bit dated looking, however it works very well & I'd prefer a functional panel, then an updated buggy one.
Overall I give full recommendations to use NFO Servers. I know I will continue to use their services for years to come.

I made this a month ago and have been sitting on it since I honestly didn't want to talk to ya'll anymore. But after some thought it's worth saying.
I'd like to express my extreme disappointment it was never thought to make the basic consideration of extending or at least *communicating* to me about the deletion date as I was actively discussing with support about it.
How did this thought not come up *the day I sent in my confirmation*. also apparently the day it was about to be deleted. (And already deleted from the database?)
Overall I find this to just be an inexcusable lack of basic foresight on multiple occasions from support and yourself.

I paid for a game server for the game "Pirates, Vikings and Knights II". Because it worked fine in 2016, I figured it would work again in 2019, but nope. Right off the bat, the server was outdated, so I had to open a ticket for them to update it. I wish the problems ended there, but the server wasn't displaying in the server browser constantly. At first I thought maybe it was being blacklisted by the game, like some sort of filter, but the devs of the game confirmed to me no such filters exist, and it became clear through troubleshooting that it was NFOServers, not the game... furthermore, 26 servers at this very moment, from other providers, are showing up in the list, but mine from NFOServers is not. 🗨 We investigated extensively for this customer at the time and his problem turned out to be due to a bug in the game itself.
After we found a solution for him, the customer apologized and told us that he was fully satisfied. He retracted his BBB complaint and removed his review from other sites. He likely won't be able to remove the review from this site due to him posting anonymously using a throwaway email.
In our support request with the customer, at no point in the process was the customer service here "nasty" or rude. Support staff consistently communicated to the customer that we would either make the server work properly or refund him. The customer was never refused support, but the customer became confused when we closed for the night and did not respond until we reopened several hours later; during that time he posted this negative review.

😠 You will not get your money back!
They are actively refusing to give me a refund on a fraudulent charge.
Someone hacked my account and while I still had an subscription agreement with them and paypal, they managed to charge me with some services i never heard about. I went directly to paypal and opened a unauthorized access, that they have won somehow and now I am missing some money from my wallet.
They seem to hold tight on your money no matter how you're trying to settle.
They are actively refusing to give me a refund on a fraudulent charge.

😠 I've used NFO since Bad Company 2 but I'm not a tech savvy guy, so I really didn't know that I've been getting screwed for years. Not only is NFO overpriced but after they screwed up (claiming their servers could handle the game my clan is currently playing) they refused to refund our money. The devs from our clan's game tried to repeatedly tell NFO that their servers didn't meet the minimum specs, but NFO just wanted to argue. Several hundred dollars are now down the drain because they won't refund our money. Stay away from NFO! Stay far away!
🗨 This customer purchased a Squad server. When he asked the Squad developers to approve a special license for him, they refused because they thought that the machine was too slow. The hardware that we used was actually faster than what they considered to be a minimum specification, so this did not make much sense.
We ended up refunding the customer because he was not able to get the service that he wanted and expected. We also adjusted our order page to remove Squad as an option for managed services, so that other customers could not have the same experience with the Squad developers.

😠 too bad i cant give less, everyone ends up leaving them or they shut you down suddenly if you get justifiably upset when you have proof of them jewing you over and ask for what you pay for to work. completely unprofessional. PLEASE DO NOT go with them or you WILL regret it i promise, we really wish now we listened to all the bad reviews about them and started with another company in the first place

We go the extra mile to make sure customers are satisfied, and we only shut customers down in response to fraud or serious abuse (as defined in our TOS). It is rare for a customer to need to be shut down due to abuse.
