📅 December 13, 2006 - Web hosting provider Verio (verio.com ) announced on Wednesday it has launched ShopSite 8.1, the latest version of its Web-based shopping cart tool that enables businesses to create and manage successful online stores.

ShopSite 8.1 does not require the installation of software as it is handled directly by Verio. The simplified interface for managing ShopSite will guide even the most inexperienced online merchant through the process of designing a successful store without any HTML experience. For more experienced Verio ShopSite customers, administrators can choose to use an advanced interface to customize the appearance and feel of their store.

Among the features in ShopSite 8.1 are compatibility with multiple payment processing services, such as PayPal, Authorize.Net and WorldPay, support for the new Google Checkout, Payment Card Industry Security Practices-approved guidelines ensuring safety and security, VISA-certification as a Payment Application Best Practices applicant and a new auction integration function.
