👈 Official Responses: 0) announced on Wednesday that Steve Renda, senior VP of global sales and marketing for Verio, has been nominated as a finalist for "Global Sales Leader of the Year" at the 3rd annual Stevie Awards for Sales & Customer Service (http://www.stevieawards.com/sales/).

The news follows Verio's appointment in December, when the company named Gus Salamoun its senior VP of global service delivery.

The winners for its Sales & Customer Service will be announced at the awards ceremony on February 9, held at Caesar's Palace in Las Vegas.

"The results of the judging thus far illustrate that even in a tough economic environment, organizations can still outperform in customer service and sales," says Michael Gallagher, president of the Stevie Awards. In being nominated as a Stevie Awards finalist, Renda beat out more than 500 entries from organizations of all sizes and in nearly every industry.

Renda has more than 20 years of experience in the technology and telecommunications industries.

As senior VP of global sales and marketing, Renda leads Verio's worldwide direct, OEM and channel sales strategy and operations, as well as the company's business development and marketing efforts.

Prior to joining Verio, Renda served as the senior VP of sales and marketing for MX Logic, where he was responsible for growing the company's managed security services in North America, Europe and Asia.

He also has a significant amount of experience working in software and managed services, including an extensive tenure at telecommunications provider Sprint, WiFi manufacturer Vivato Networks, and Vistard, a broadband wireless network services that he co-founded.

The Stevie Awards organizes several business awards shows including the American Business Awards, The International Business Awards, The Stevie Awards for Women in Business, and The Stevie Awards for Sales & Customer Service.
