Apr 18, 2007 : Verio Launches Linux MPS

📅 April 18, 2007 - Web hosting provider Verio (verio.com ) announced on Wednesday the availability of its managed private server on the Linux platform, part of Verio's 360º Managed Servers suite of services.

Verio's Linux MPS, built on Red Hat Enterprise Linux ES version 4, takes advantage of the stability of the Linux platform by bundling it with dedicated, enterprise-level hardware, a secure managed hosting platform and managed services for added power and performance, says the company. The solution delivers cost-efficient Linux hosting to mid-market and small businesses, as well as solution provider partners, including independent software vendors, Web developers and IT professionals.

Verio has also launched the ability to use multiple IPs on a single physical server. In addition to the IP address included with every MPS account, Linux MPS users can add up to 49 additional IP addresses to their server, depending on the Linux MPS hosting plan chosen.

"Our Linux MPS delivers a robust and reliable open source managed Web hosting solution for businesses, including resellers and developers, who have more complex hosting requirements and need to do more than just host a simple Web site, but don't want the bother of managing hardware and software upgrades or security patch deployment," says Kiyoshi Maeda, president and CEO for Verio. "With this offering, Verio has worked to expand its popular MPS to the Linux platform, as well as to offer the latest applications and other technology enhancements."

Verio also recently announced the launch of the viaVerio Partner Rebate program, designed to give solution provider partners serving small and medium-sized businesses the opportunity to earn incremental cash incentives to streamline their accounts under the viaVerio Partner Program.
