The new software features include support for up to 32,000 VLANs perchassis, VLAN to MPLS mapping and per subscriber Quality of Service. Whenused in conjunction with the company's Service Selection Center software,individual subscribers now have the ability to dynamically customize theseservices to meet individual user requirements.
Unisphere is extending the model of xDSL and cable providers to includeBroadband Ethernet, which enables service providers to offer newrevenue-generating services, such as movies on demand and gaming, inaddition to basic connectivity. Unique to Unisphere Networks is the abilityto deliver IP routing, IP service creation and subscriber management in asingle platform - all at wire-speed performance. Deploying a single platformwith this advanced feature set minimizes capital expenditures, increasesoperational efficiencies and enables more rapid deployment of services.
