-> web.com), one of the nation's leading Internet infrastructure solutions providers, has announced the appointment of Greg McKown as CEO, succeeding Fred Pounds who will step down in light of the company's refocused market strategy.

"Fred helped build Hostcentric during our critical first year when our focuswas on enterprise customers," stated Mr. McKown, president and CEO. "Are-evaluation of our market strategy has led us to de-emphasize ourenterprise initiatives and focus on providing scalable hosting options tosmall-to-medium sized companies. Fred's contribution to Hostcentric has beeninvaluable, and I have every confidence that he will continue to be an assetto Hostcentric as chairman of the board during this transition."
Mr. McKown was promoted from Hostcentric's president and COO to itspresident and CEO effective immediately. Prior to Hostcentric, Mr. McKownserved as president and CEO of Maxim Computer Systems Corporation, a companyhe co-founded in November 1988.

"Greg's extensive background in theInternet infrastructure sector, coupled with his knowledge of systems andnetworking make him the right choice to lead Hostcentric as we make thistransition," said Mr. Pounds, chairman of the board.
"The challenge of the current economic environment is to scale operations toreflect slower economic growth rates. I think we've done that with thiscurrent move. This transition supports the company's new focus andcontributes to our long-standing goal of becoming EBITDA positive in thefourth quarter 2001."
