Sep, 2001 : Microsoft Launches MOUS Certification Program in Ireland


📅 - Microsoft Ireland(microsoft.com/ireland) today announced the launch of its first official Certification for trainers inMicrosoft Office, up to and including the most recentrelease of Office XP. To coincide with the launch ofthe MOUS Master Instructor Program (mous.net) inIreland, a seminar will be held on Oct. 11, 2001, inMicrosoft's offices in Sandyford. Mary Ruth McDaid, group marketing manager forMicrosoft Ireland said "the MOUS Certification Programhas taken off in a big way across the globe. InIreland alone, there are 100 authorized testingcenters with a growing number of examinations takenevery month. While the holders of the MOUScertificates can guarantee excellence intheir chosen field, we now need a supply of qualifiedinstructors to teach these courses."

The Microsoft Office User Specialist (MOUS) Program isthe only official Microsoft certified examinationprogram on their Office suite of desktop applications.
Established three years ago, it has become the largestand fastest growing desktop certification program inthe world and is now recognised worldwide as the maincertification Program in MS Office applications. Currently 300,000 Microsoft Office User Specialistsspan the globe, while each month candidates worldwidetake over 37,000 exams.
The MOUS Program is available in 114 Countries and in18 different languages. Applicants applying for theMOUS Master Instructor Program must demonstrate theirability across the Microsoft suite of applications. For the Microsoft Office 97 certificate, candidatesmust already hold MOUS certificates in Microsoft Word97 Expert, Microsoft Excel 97 Expert, Microsoft Access97 Expert, and Microsoft PowerPoint 97 Expert. For theMicrosoft Office 2000 Certificate, candidates musthold MOUS certificates in Microsoft Word 2000 Expert,Microsoft Excel 2000 Expert, Microsoft Access 2000,Microsoft PowerPoint 2000 and Microsoft Outlook 2000.
Applicants must also be able to demonstrateinstructional experience holding a diploma ortranscript indicating that you have satisfied therequirements for a college degree in one or morefields of educational study; or written verificationfrom your current and /or past employer on suchemployer's letterhead that you have a total of two ormore years of employment experience deliveringcompetent training on Microsoft Office desktopapplications; or a certificate indicating that youhave successfully completed a Microsoft approvedpresentation skills or Train-the Trainer course; or aninstructor completion certificate from any of thefollowing vendors: Caldera, Certified InternetWebmaster, Cisco Systems, Citrix, Lotus, Microsoft,Novell, Oracle or Santa Cruz Operation, Inc.
