Sep, 2001 : INYC Calls on IT World to Aid Suffering Businesses

📅 September 19, 2001 - INYC (,a href="http://www.inyc.com">inyc.com), one of the nation's leading broadband solutions provider is calling on ISPs, Web Hosting companies and other tech firms to lend a helping hand to World Trade Center businesses that suffered lose of service.

INYC will focus its efforts in helping companies that lost their Internetrelated services resulting from the World Trade Center tragedy. INYC isproviding free services such as email, Web hosting, Web design and otherInternet related products for at least the next 90 days to any companyaffected by the network outage. INYC has reserved enough Web space to host2,000 Web sites to do so.
"As an ISP located in New York City and being New Yorkers, we were allextremely hurt and shocked at what happened in our city, our country," saidOriya Pollak, CTO of INYC. "We have received many phone calls and requestsfrom partner companies that are in need of email and other essentials tominimize loss of business. That made me realize that we can help, our heartwent out to them as businesses got shut down. The Internet is all aboutworking together, and what a better time then now."
INYC has sent out a plea to other ISPs with posts to various ISP-Lists tojoin in the efforts. "The response was huge, with an initial outpouring fromWeb hosts and ISPs everywhere" added Mr. Pollak. "A Web site(http://www.silenthelp.com) has been set up recently to conglomerate all thedifferent ISPs providing their services."
INYC is asking other technology firms and Internet companies to post atsilenthelp.com and create the Sept. 11 Internet Fund to help those in need."We need all the help we can get," added Mr. Kiliszek. "We are asking anycompany out there that has the ability to help, please contact us athttp://www.inyc.com/help.html and help make a difference."
