📅 - Nominum (nominum.com), a provider of Internet name and address management solutions, today announced it had secured $10 million in capital funding.
The company, formed by the team of engineers and scientists who created theDomain Name System (DNS), obtained the capital from Bessemer Venture Partners and Morgenthaler Ventures.
Nominum, which provides integrated and scalable solutions for managing the names, addresses, resources and services critical to an organization's online operation, raised the money in a new venture capital round, bringing total capital raised to $15 million.
Nominum's enterprise customers include AT&T, Bear Stearns, Bloomberg, New York Times, Social Security Agency, Sprint, Wal-Mart, and Yahoo!.
"Our belief in Nominum's solid product, strategy, and management team is evident in our investment," said Ken Gullicksen from Morgenthaler. "The team's experience as the original developers of the DNS and DHCP standards demonstrates their ability to execute and to meet today's requirements for the enterprise."
The firm offers software, services, and ICANN-certified DNS hosting on its global name service to enterprises, registries, and service providers.
