📅 - Web performance acceleration solution provider Redline Networks (redlinenetworks.com) said on Wednesday that the Game Show Network has implemented Redline's T|X 2200 Web I/O Accelerator technology to support the weekly broadcast of over 40 hours of synch-to-broadcast interactive television.
"We had an urgent need to scale our Web site to meet forecasted demand as our new shows were introduced on our network and new interactive forums were added to our Web site," says Sabri Sansoy, Game Show Network's director of online and interactive technology.
Even during peak times, says Sansov, the T|X 2200 reduced download times by 40 percent and cut bandwidth usage by over 30 percent. The product also eliminated the need for additional servers and data center equipment.
"We looked at a number of approaches to accelerate our web site. We chose the T|X 2200 Web I/O Accelerator because of its rapid payback. It doesn't just increase site capacity and performance. It saves us money. Another key selling point for Redline Networks' T|X Web I/O Accelerator was the TCP management technology. Redline Networks' appliance accelerated over ten thousand TCP connections while load balancing literally just 20-50 TCP connections to and from our live servers," says Sansoy. "Incredible as it seems, we are now able to push over 40 Mb of traffic from just two Apache servers."
