Jan, 2003 : WARP Debuts Application Delivery Appliance

📅 - Application acceleration technology developer WARP Solutions Inc. (warpsolutions.com) announced on Tuesday that it has released the WARP 2063e, a new edge appliance that enables organizations and service providers to distribute applications, transactions and content across global IP-based networks while maintaining performance.

The WARP 2063e, says WARP Solutions, sits at the network's edge to offload high-volume traffic and serve end-user requests from the closest node resource. The WARP 2063e enables the implementation of an application delivery network (AND) to distribute ERP, supply chain, financial, CRM and other strategic, Web-based business applications from the edge of the network.
The 2063e is part of WARP's Global Transaction Enabled Network (GTEN) architecture, which includes a series of products designed to significantly improve network and server performance, and enable distributed application acceleration.
"Focused on static content, CDNs are simply ineffective in supporting the increased use of the Internet by the enterprise to deliver business-critical applications worldwide, as well as the growing volume of dynamic content and transaction processing online," said Greg Parker, chief technology officer at WARP. "With the WARP 2063e, WARP introduces the ADN, a new type of delivery network that addresses the need to bring applications and data closer to end-users wherever they are - enabling accelerated delivery on a global scale, while reducing costs and preserving existing investments."
