📅 - Communications carrier Sprint and advertising company McKee Wallwork Henderson said last week that they were working together to present the ADBOWL (adbowl.com), a real-time ranking system designed to allow viewers to rank the commercials shown during the Superbowl broadcast on January 26.
Powered by Internet services firm Proteus, software products developer Openwave and Web hosting company FatCow, the ADBOWL will allow viewers to cast votes for their favorite ads using a PCS phone or the ADBOWL.com Web site. Winners will be announced at the end of the game.
Using an application developed by Proteus, and Openwave's push technology, registered users will be notified of the ads by messages on their PCS phones. Viewers can rate the ads on a scale from one to five, as well as answer football and advertising trivia throughout the game.
"Ads during this event have become a pop-culture phenomena, and many viewers watch the game as much for the ads as for the football," said Steve McKee, president of McKee Wallwork Henderson Advertising. "The ADBOWL is an accurate analysis of commercials during the big game because the winners and losers are chosen by the viewers, fans and advertising professionals alike."
