📅 January 20, 2003 - Telecommunications provider Universal Broadband Communications (ubccom.com) announced on Monday that it has executed an asset purchase agreement with California-based Web site design and hosting company uNetCommerce Inc. (unetcommerce.com)

According to the agreement, UBC will purchase certain assets and capabilities of the company, including Web site and hosting network equipment and software, as well as uNetCommerce's distribution channel with over 500 active agents. uNetCommerce's two main principles, Steve Tirella and Carlos Blanco, will join UBC, as marketing director and sales director respectively, to assist with integration and interoperability.
"Continuous improvement is a way of life for us," says Mark Ellis, CEO of UBC. "uNetCommerce was selected on the basis of its complementary value offered to our customers and the strength of their distribution channel. The company also said it has taken steps to integrate the network assets, customers and employees recently acquired from Network Access Solutions Corporation (NAS).
