Jan, 2003 : NCsoft Austin Picks Texas.Net for Hosting
📅 - Texas-based business Internet and data center services provider Texas.Net (texas.net) announced on Tuesday that it has been chosen by online games publisher NCsoft to provide Internet and data center services for its North American operations.
Texas.Net says it will support NCsoft's worldwide multiplayer games, including Lineage, which, according to Texas.Net, attracts the greatest number of concurrent users in the world. The company says it was chosen based on its solid reputation for providing personalized customer service and its ability to offer reliable business Intenet services customized to meet NCsoft's needs.
According to Texas.Net, the company's multiple peering points, geographical reach and access to multiple carriers are all critical to quality game play. Texas.Net says its services have significantly reduced NCsoft's latency, improving the consistency of play and control of game characters. The company also says it helped moved NCsoft into its facility without interrupting service.
"NCsoft has very specific needs that are well-aligned with Texas.Net's strengths -- personal and knowledgeable customer service and highly reliable Internet and data center services," said Jonah Yokubaitis, president and CEO of Texas.Net. " NCsoft needs a stable partner to provide the consistent bandwidth their customers demand with the ability to scale to meet the company's growth in the future."
