Jan, 2003 : HP Delivers Solutions to Domino Community
📅 - Computer systems maker HP (hp.com) said on Tuesday that it has released solutions designed to save Lotus Domino customers time and money by supplying advanced storage, servers, imaging and printing capabilities to support enterprise mail solutions.
HP StorageWorks Rapid Restore for Lotus Domino, says the company, enables customers to recover from downtime in seconds or minutes, improving application uptime and preventing the loss of information. Along with showing the solution at Lotusphere, HP is demonstrating Lotus application solutions using its recently-announced two- and four-processor blade servers, the HP ProLiant BL20p and BL40p.
According to HP, its StorageWorks Rapid Restore for Lotus Domino provides fast recovery for environments of up to 10,000 users. Internal testing, says HP, has shown recovery times as short as 11 seconds to 15 minutes, versus up to six hours with other solutions.
"HP's latest Domino offerings underscore our commitment to industry-standard servers running Domino," said Ron Eller, vice president, Solutions, HP Industry Standard Solutions. "HP's blade servers are capable of supporting very large Domino installations and provide a seamless path for customers looking for a powerful, cost-effective consolidation strategy. Mail and messaging systems require proven, integrated data protection solutions like Rapid Restore for Lotus Domino. When combined with HP printing solutions, these offerings make HP the clear choice for extending and supporting Domino environments."
