Feb, 2003 : NTT/Verio PowerPlatform Hosting Certified

📅 February 19, 2003 - IP solutions provider Verio (Verio.com ) announced on Wednesday that its NTT/VERIO PowerPlatform Hosting Solutions, comprised of Verio's managed hosting products for midsize and large enterprises, have been certified under the SunTone initiative.

Led by Sun Microsystems Inc., the SunTon initiative is a collaborative industry effort to define best practices, and a means of measuring service providers' infrastructure, operational practices, hardware, software and overall service delivery. The certification, says Verio, confirms that NTT/VERIO PowerPlatform Hosting meets strict criteria for scalability, availability, reliability and performance.
According to Verio, PowerPlatform Hosting incorporates three distinct areas: RapidRollout Solutions serving the entry-level dedicated market; Modular Solutions targeting the mid-to-high end market and allowing customers to create unique infrastructures; and Colocation Solutions providing resilient data center hosting space and bandwidth.
"Customers demand considerable assurance that their service providers can effectively manage their business needs," said Isabel Ehringer, president of Verio's Enterprise Hosting Business Unit. "SunTone certification of PowerPlatform Hosting further demonstrates that Verio's hosting solutions have been qualified as world-class offerings, and enterprise-class customers should feel secure knowing that Verio is employing best-of-breed solutions for their businesses."
