(3*) 🔧 Services: Web HostingDomain Registration⇔ Redirected from d9hosting.com
D9 Hosting is a privately owned British web hosting provider founded in 2007 by long-term business partners Dan Thompson and Paula Brett. The hosting business operates as a division of D9 Solutions Limited, an active company incorporated in England and Wales on April 16, 2009. What began with hosting services for local web-design customers has developed into an international operation serving tens of thousands of websites across more than 55 countries.
Dan Thompson remains Owner and Support Manager, while Paula Brett manages customer service and daily operations. The technical team includes long-serving developers, systems administrators, and support specialists, giving the company a degree of continuity that is increasingly uncommon among independent hosting providers.
The service portfolio includes shared hosting, premium shared hosting, multi-site hosting, reseller hosting, managed cloud VPS, managed and unmanaged dedicated servers, domain registration, domain transfers, domain privacy, hosted email, Microsoft Exchange mailboxes, cloud spam filtering, managed WordPress backups, malware removal, website firewall protection, CDN services, SSL certificates, website migration, and website-building tools.
The main hosting platform is Linux. Conventional Windows shared hosting is not available, although Microsoft-based email services are offered through the hosted Exchange range.
Standard shared hosting is divided into D9 One, intended for a single website, and D9 Max, which permits several domains under one account. Both packages include cPanel, unmetered storage and monthly traffic under fair-use rules, free SSL certificates, free website migration, email accounts, databases, malware scanning, an application installer, and the SiteJet website builder.
Customers can choose between servers in the United States and the United Kingdom. This makes the standard plans suitable for personal websites, blogs, small company websites, WordPress projects, and basic online stores serving either North American or European audiences.
The shared-hosting platform uses AMD Ryzen processors, NVMe storage, CloudLinux account isolation, LiteSpeed integration, cPanel, and RAID-protected disks. Standard accounts receive one processor core and 1GB RAM. Each cPanel account is also limited to approximately 200,000 files and directories.
The unmetered storage and bandwidth allowances remain governed by resource and acceptable-use limits. Shared accounts cannot be used as backup repositories, download archives, file-sharing platforms, proxy services, or storage systems unrelated to an active website.
Premium Shared Hosting provides more processing capacity and stronger recovery options. Each premium account receives 2GB RAM, NVMe storage protected by RAID, fewer customers per server, and daily off-site backups with around 30 available restore points.
This premium tier is better suited to WooCommerce stores, membership websites, busier WordPress installations, and business applications where faster database access and dependable backup retention are important.
Multi-Site Hosting is designed for developers, agencies, and companies operating several websites. Each website receives an individual cPanel account and a separate Linux user rather than sharing one large control-panel account.
This separation improves security and resource management because files, email accounts, databases, and usage limits remain isolated between projects. Depending on the selected plan, customers can create up to 40, 60, 80, or 100 cPanel accounts. Premium multi-site packages add 2GB RAM per account and the faster NVMe-based platform.
Reseller Hosting follows a similar technical structure but includes the tools required to sell hosting under an independent brand. Resellers receive WHM administration, private nameservers, white-label operation, a domain reseller account, and the ability to create custom hosting packages.
The larger Platinum reseller packages also include a WHMCS license for billing, order processing, automated account creation, renewal management, suspension, and customer administration. Both standard and premium reseller plans are available, with premium accounts receiving additional memory and NVMe storage.
The Managed Cloud VPS range uses KVM virtualization, AMD EPYC processors, DDR4 memory, RAID-protected NVMe storage, and full root access. Customers can select DirectAdmin, Webuzo, or cPanel/WHM, depending on their preferred administration environment and the selected configuration.
VPS management includes initial server hardening, operating-system maintenance, troubleshooting, control-panel support, and continuous external monitoring. Important services such as HTTP, MySQL, DNS, server load, and network availability can be monitored automatically.
Weekly off-site account backups are included with managed VPS hosting. A daily backup service is available when longer retention and more frequent restore points are required. Custom unmanaged VPS configurations are also available for customers who prefer to administer the operating system, security, software stack, and updates independently.
Dedicated servers are available in the United States, United Kingdom, and Amsterdam, with additional regions such as Singapore, Japan, and central Europe available for certain hardware requirements.
The configurations range from smaller single-processor servers with mirrored SSD storage to high-density platforms equipped with large DDR5 memory allocations, RAID-10 NVMe arrays, and network connections reaching 10Gbps.
Managed dedicated servers include security configuration, proactive monitoring, operating-system updates, control-panel assistance, migration support, and hardware coordination. Unmanaged servers are also available for experienced administrators who need unrestricted control over the software environment.
United States dedicated servers are generally configured individually according to processor, memory, storage, bandwidth, operating system, control panel, and management requirements. Available systems range from four-core servers with mirrored 1TB SSDs to platforms with dozens of processor cores, several terabytes of memory, and multiple NVMe drives.
United Kingdom dedicated servers are organized into more standardized Bronze, Silver, and Gold configurations. These plans include 10Gbps connectivity and monthly traffic allocations between approximately 50TB and 100TB.
Amsterdam dedicated servers include unmetered 1Gbps connectivity, SSD or NVMe RAID storage, and managed DirectAdmin or cPanel administration.
The email range includes hosted Exchange mailboxes, conventional POP and IMAP mailboxes, and a separate cloud-based spam-filtering gateway.
Hosted Exchange accounts provide large mailbox quotas, encryption at rest, antivirus protection, spam filtering, support for large attachments, mobile synchronization, and optional Outlook licensing. The Exchange service has historically operated on Exchange Server 2016, so business customers should confirm the active server generation and support lifecycle before completing a large email migration.
The cloud spam-filtering service works by routing incoming email through an external filtering gateway before it reaches the destination mail server. It includes quarantine management, sender and recipient controls, high spam-detection accuracy, and temporary message queuing when the destination server becomes unavailable.
Additional security and recovery products include a website firewall and CDN powered by Sucuri (sucuri.net), DDoS mitigation, virtual patching, malware removal, website caching, and managed WordPress backups.
The managed WordPress backup service uses encrypted S3-compatible storage and includes Backuply Pro. Customers can restore websites through a simplified interface and protect several WordPress installations associated with the same hosting account.
Free SSL certificates are included with hosting. Some older product information refers to Comodo certificates, while the current shared-hosting platform uses automated certificates through cPanel, including Let’s Encrypt support.
Free website migration can include website files, databases, and email accounts. Transfers between cPanel servers are normally the simplest because account data can be moved in a complete package. Email transfers from providers using other control panels may require the login credentials for each mailbox.
Domain services include new registrations, transfers, bulk management, DNS administration, renewal controls, reseller access, and privacy protection. ID Protect replaces registrant contact details in public WHOIS records where the domain registry permits privacy services.
The main website operates in English. The customer and ordering interface supports a much broader selection of languages, including Arabic, Azerbaijani, Catalan, Chinese, Croatian, Czech, Danish, Dutch, English, Estonian, Persian, French, German, Hebrew, Hungarian, Italian, Macedonian, Norwegian, Portuguese, Romanian, Russian, Spanish, Swedish, Turkish, and Ukrainian.
Billing is available in U.S. dollars and British pounds.
The website has a responsive layout that works on desktop computers, tablets, and mobile devices. The product catalog combines newer technologies such as AlmaLinux, AMD EPYC, NVMe storage, and Let’s Encrypt with a few older software references, including CentOS 7, Exchange Server 2016, and Comodo SSL. Customers ordering server or email services should confirm the final operating system, control-panel version, backup schedule, and software generation included in the selected package.
💰 Price & Cost
D9 Hosting uses substantial introductory discounts for customers choosing longer prepaid billing periods. The lowest shared-hosting price begins at approximately $3.48 per month for D9 One, while D9 Max starts at approximately $4.98 per month.
These prices normally require a 36-month term and a promotional discount applied to the first payment. Customers choosing monthly billing pay considerably more, with flexible shared-hosting packages starting at approximately $13.44 per month.
Premium shared hosting begins at approximately $6.57 per month, while the premium multi-domain package starts at around $8.37 per month.
Standard multi-site and reseller hosting begin at approximately $14 per month. Premium NVMe versions start at around $24 per month. Larger multi-site and reseller plans can reach approximately $60 per month for standard hosting and $84 per month for premium hosting during the initial discounted term.
Managed VPS hosting begins at approximately $42.67 per month, with additional promotional reductions sometimes available for the initial service period.
United Kingdom dedicated servers begin at approximately $124 per month during the introductory term. Amsterdam dedicated servers start at around £100 per month. United States dedicated servers are commonly priced individually because customers can customize the processor, memory, storage, bandwidth, management, operating system, and control panel.
Hosted Exchange costs approximately $10.49 per mailbox per month, while a standard POP or IMAP mailbox begins at approximately $4.99 per month.
Website firewall and CDN protection costs around $14.95 per website per month.
Managed WordPress backup packages include approximately 50GB for $89 per year, 200GB for $199 per year, and 500GB for $334 per year.
Listed charges exclude VAT. Customers can pay in USD or GBP.
Payment methods include credit cards, debit cards, UK Direct Debit for eligible GBP customers, ACH debit or bank transfer for eligible U.S. customers, and conventional UK bank transfer by arrangement. PayPal is no longer included in the normal checkout process, although it may remain available by request when customers cannot use one of the standard methods.
A 30-day money-back guarantee applies to shared hosting. Domain registration, setup work, installations, and other additional services are excluded. When a hosting package includes a free domain, the registration cost is deducted from the refund.
The money-back guarantee does not apply to reseller hosting, VPS, or dedicated servers. Cancellations submitted after the initial guarantee period do not qualify for prorated refunds.
Services are billed in advance for the selected term. Promotional discounts may require a minimum commitment and normally apply only to the initial payment. Customers should therefore compare the full checkout total, billing period, normal renewal price, and automatic-payment settings rather than relying only on the lowest monthly equivalent.
🏢 Data Center
Shared hosting is available from New Jersey, United States, and Coventry, United Kingdom. Customers can choose the region closest to their main audience or the jurisdiction that best suits their business requirements.
The New Jersey facility is an SSAE 16 Type II audited Tier 4 environment located near the New York City metropolitan area. It includes continuous physical security, controlled access, CCTV surveillance, redundant BGP routing, more than 1,000Gbps of total network capacity, multiple connectivity providers, N+2 cooling, and N+2 UPS protection.
Emergency power is provided by thirteen 2,000kVA generators, supported by enough stored diesel for several days of autonomous operation. The carrier-neutral facility also provides 24-hour remote-hands assistance.
The New Jersey network uses AS23470, operated by ReliableSite.
The Coventry facility was completed in December 2022. It includes a continuous network operations center, diverse 11kV electrical supplies, 2N+1 UPS systems, 4MW of 2N+1 generator capacity, closed-loop water cooling, IG55 fire suppression, manned security, CCTV surveillance, intrusion detection, and controlled smart-card access.
Connectivity combines Tier 1 IP transit with private peering, while replacement hardware for critical systems is stored on-site.
The United Kingdom network uses AS42831, operated by UKServers.
Amsterdam dedicated servers operate from an Iron Mountain data center. These configurations include SSD or NVMe RAID, managed Linux administration, unmetered 1Gbps connectivity, and optional off-site backup protection.
The standard hosting commitment is a 99.9% uptime guarantee. The New Jersey and Coventry network infrastructure carries a stronger 100% network uptime guarantee, together with a 0% packet-loss target for the United States network.
Shared and reseller accounts normally receive weekly backups. Premium shared hosting includes daily off-site backups and approximately 30 restore points.
Managed VPS accounts receive weekly disaster-recovery backups, with daily protection available as an optional upgrade. Dedicated-server backup arrangements depend on the selected configuration and can include remote or off-site storage.
✍️ Customer Support
Technical support is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year through the ticket system and support email. The normal technical-response target is within 60 minutes.
Support requests must originate from an authorized email address connected to the customer account. This protects hosting accounts from unauthorized access and allows the technical team to verify the identity of the person requesting changes.
The ticket system is the primary support channel because it keeps a complete history of troubleshooting, account authorization, configuration changes, and technical recommendations.
Customers also have access to a knowledgebase, video tutorials, server-information tools, and a network-status area.
Customer service, billing, and sales operate Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. GMT. The standard response target for these departments is approximately two to four hours during business hours.
Abuse reports are accepted continuously, with a response target of one to four hours.
Telephone numbers are available in both the United Kingdom and United States, although telephone service is mainly intended for sales inquiries. Technical problems should be submitted through the ticket system.
Managed VPS and dedicated-server customers benefit from continuous external monitoring. Network connectivity, HTTP, MySQL, DNS, and server load can be checked automatically so that the technical team can investigate service failures.
Data-center remote-hands personnel and locally stored replacement hardware provide additional support when physical intervention is required.
Basic WordPress troubleshooting is available on a best-effort basis. This assistance does not replace website development, custom programming, content editing, or advanced debugging of third-party plugins and themes.
🔨 Control Panel
Shared and premium shared hosting use cPanel. Customers can manage domains, subdomains, email accounts, databases, website files, backups, cron jobs, DNS records, SSL certificates, and application installations from one interface.
SiteJet is included for customers who prefer to create websites through a visual editor rather than working directly with HTML, content-management systems, or website code.
Multi-site and reseller plans include WHM, allowing several independent cPanel accounts to be created and administered from one central interface.
Resellers can create hosting packages, assign disk and traffic limits, configure private nameservers, and operate under their own brand. Larger reseller plans include WHMCS for automated billing, account provisioning, renewals, suspensions, and customer management.
Managed VPS and dedicated-server customers can select DirectAdmin, Webuzo, or cPanel/WHM, depending on the server configuration and location. Amsterdam servers primarily support DirectAdmin and cPanel.
Root access remains available on VPS and dedicated servers for customers who need direct Linux administration.
The cloud spam-filtering service includes a separate quarantine panel where customers can inspect blocked messages, release legitimate email, and adjust filtering preferences.
Domain customers receive a separate domain-management interface for registrations, renewals, transfers, nameserver changes, DNS settings, contact details, and privacy protection.
🎯 Conclusion
D9 Hosting combines the personal service of an independent company with a service range broad enough to support personal websites, online stores, developers, agencies, resellers, and businesses requiring managed servers. Its strongest products are managed Linux hosting, premium cPanel hosting, isolated multi-site accounts, white-label reseller hosting, managed VPS, flexible dedicated servers, free migrations, and shared hosting in both the United States and United Kingdom.
CloudLinux isolation, LiteSpeed integration, NVMe storage, off-site backup options, daily malware scanning, free SSL certificates, and 24/7 technical support provide a solid foundation for business hosting.
The separate cPanel-account structure used by multi-site and reseller packages is particularly valuable. A security issue or resource spike affecting one website is less likely to disrupt every other project under the same master account.
The main limitations concern billing and product clarity. The lowest prices require long prepaid terms, monthly hosting is substantially more expensive, and unmetered shared hosting remains subject to processor, memory, inode, and acceptable-use restrictions.
The refund guarantee is limited to shared hosting and excludes reseller packages, VPS, dedicated servers, domains, and additional services. Some older software references also remain alongside the newer infrastructure, making it sensible to confirm the active operating system, Exchange version, control panel, renewal price, and backup schedule before ordering.
D9 Hosting is best suited to small businesses, WordPress users, developers, agencies, and hosting resellers that want managed Linux infrastructure and direct access to an established support team.
It is less suitable for customers seeking Windows shared hosting, a modern Microsoft cloud suite, unrestricted month-to-month pricing, or a money-back guarantee covering server products.
For customers comfortable with cPanel or DirectAdmin and prepared to review the final billing term and service configuration, D9 Hosting remains a credible independent provider with capable management options and well-equipped infrastructure on both sides of the Atlantic.
