📄 Editorial Review

Founded in 1996, Web Werks has grown from a regional hosting outfit into a multi-market data center and infrastructure provider with tens of thousands of customers. Their footprint spans India and the USA, with interconnection into EMEA and North America through the Iron Mountain Data Centers ecosystem. In April 2025, the brand began operating under Iron Mountain Data Centers in India, retaining local leadership and pushing an aggressive expansion plan across major metros. The positioning is clear: carrier-neutral facilities paired with managed infrastructure services for everyone from startups to hyperscale buyers.

Core Services at a Glance

Colocation & Interconnection. They operate carrier-neutral facilities with broad peering options and access to multiple internet exchanges. Rack-level to private-cage deployments are available, backed by dense network ecosystems designed to reduce latency and improve resiliency.
Cloud Hosting. Public, private, and virtual private cloud options sit alongside hybrid designs. They emphasize autoscaling, SAP-certified cloud, banking/government community clouds, and multi-cloud services that integrate with hyperscalers when needed.
Bare Metal / Dedicated Servers. Single-tenant servers with modern Intel Xeon platforms, NVMe storage, and large RAM configurations are positioned for predictable performance and control. Customers can bring their own licenses and add managed security or network services.
Managed Services. A 24/7 operations model covers OS hardening, patching, monitoring, database administration, migrations, and network management, allowing teams to offload routine care and focus on applications.
Backup & DR. Tiered backup, synchronization, and disaster recovery services are designed to keep workloads recoverable across locations, with policies that fit compliance-heavy environments.
CDN. Their content delivery offerings leverage on-net exchanges and a connected ecosystem to shorten paths and stabilize delivery of static and streaming media.
Please note that Web Hosting Stack (Shared, VPS) is not available as of 2025

Cloud Platform

Their cloud portfolio is broad: public, private, VPC, and hybrid architectures; SAP-certified options; sector-specific community clouds for banking and government; and load balancing. Autoscaling helps smooth traffic spikes, and hybrid designs blend on-prem and cloud when full migration isn’t feasible. Multi-cloud advisory and management aim to reduce lock-in while meeting regulatory or latency requirements.

Colocation & Data Centers

In India, they operate across Mumbai, Pune, Delhi NCR (Noida), Bangalore, and Hyderabad, with new campuses planned in Mumbai, Chennai, and Noida. Facilities are described as high-density and hyperscale-ready, with N+N redundancy across critical systems, biometric access control, continuous surveillance, and fire detection/suppression. Through the IMDC network, customers can extend into Amsterdam, Frankfurt, London, and a slate of US markets including Boston, Denver, New Jersey, Kansas City, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Phoenix, Scottsdale, and Virginia.

Network & Performance

Their network stance is "always-on": multi-carrier BGP, direct ties to numerous ISPs and internet exchanges, and a neutral interconnect fabric that favors low latency. They explicitly highlight performance consistency on bare metal (high I/O NVMe, modern CPUs) and the ability to autoscale in the cloud to maintain application response during surges.

Security & Compliance Posture

Security spans physical and logical layers: biometric access, CCTV, VESDA fire detection, and staffed sites; plus OS hardening, managed firewalling, DDoS mitigation assistance, and vulnerability assessments by request. Regular audits and sector clouds (e.g., banking/government) indicate processes aimed at compliance-driven buyers.

Management & Support

Round-the-clock support is a core promise. Their managed services team handles monitoring, patching, performance tuning, and migrations under documented SLAs. For dedicated and colocation customers, this reduces operational overhead while keeping critical systems supervised.

Backup, DR & Business Continuity

Backup-as-a-Service covers frequent replication, live-volume synchronization, and recovery across sites. Disaster recovery options are structured to rebuild from baseline when needed, which suits regulated or mission-critical environments where recovery time targets matter.

CDN & Interconnection

Their CDN options, combined with on-net exchanges and a large ISP mix, aim to shorten routes and keep content delivery stable. Real-time edge monitoring is emphasized for visibility.

Guarantees and SLAs

Uptime language appears in two tiers across their materials:
  • Data center and network availability is advertised with stringent SLAs, including 99.995% targets for critical infrastructure and statements of 100% uptime for certain colocation/network contexts.
  • For shared/VPS/cloud plans, the broad commitment is high availability, but exact application-level SLAs may vary by product and contract.
A standard money-back guarantee is not prominently promoted across the portfolio; buyers should expect enterprise-style agreements rather than retail refund policies. Prospects evaluating shared/VPS plans should request explicit SLA and refund terms at quotation time.

Leadership & 2025 Integration

As of April 1, 2025, Web Werks in India operates under the Iron Mountain Data Centers brand with full ownership. Local leadership continues to steer day-to-day operations, and expansion plans target hundreds of megawatts of future capacity across multiple campuses to address AI-era and cloud growth.

Strengths

  • Breadth of services: From shared hosting to hyperscale-ready colocation and sector clouds, they cover most infrastructure needs under one umbrella.
  • Interconnection density: Many ISP ties and multiple exchanges reduce latency and improve path diversity.
  • Managed expertise: A mature managed services practice supports complex stacks and compliance-heavy workloads.
  • Scalability: Clear pathways from entry-level hosting to bare metal, hybrid cloud, and multi-cloud designs.

Trade-offs

  • SLA clarity by product: Enterprise colocation/network SLAs are explicit; shared/VPS/cloud buyers should seek written, plan-level guarantees.
  • Money-back expectations: Traditional retail refund windows don’t appear central to the offering; the model aligns more with enterprise contracting.
  • Catalog complexity: The wide menu can be overwhelming without solution guidance; discovery calls are often necessary.
