Dec, 2003 : NEXL to Host and Manage Historical Web Site

📅 December 8, 2003 - Managed services and Web hosting provider NEXL Network Systems (nexl.com) said today that it has been selected by the New England Historic Genealogical Society (NEHGS) to manage and provide hosting for its e-commerce Web site NewEnglandAncestors.org.

"Our Web site provides members with online access to extensive resources," said Ralph Crandall, executive director of NEHGS. "In addition, the online store makes purchasing materials much easier for members, and the addition of thousands of long out-of-print titles to the store catalog makes it the largest available resource of its kind. More than 75 percent of new members and 20 percent of membership renewals are processed through the Web site. With NEXL as our IT partner, NEHGS benefits from a cost-effective infrastructure and the valuable on-demand planning resource that NEXL provides."
NEXL said that under the agreement, it will host the NEGHS site and provide a full suite of managed services, including monitoring and administration of NEHGS' hosted infrastructure, gathering of performance metrics, data backup and recovery services, and on-demand services for increasing storage, server and network capacity.
