Jan, 2004 : Configuresoft Integrates SQL Server Reporting
📅 - Configuresoft (configuresoft.com), a developer of software for managing and automating Windows systems deployed in large networks, announced today that it has integrated its Enterprise Configuration Manager (ECM) solution with Microsoft SQL Server 2000 Reporting Services.
ECM automates the monitoring, management and auditing of hardware and software configurations of Windows-based systems deployed in large enterprise networks or Web server farms.
According to the company, integration of ECM with Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services allows it to provide executive dashboards of security and operations data. This is done through Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services accessing an ECM-maintained SQL Server-based database of current configurations for each server and client in the enterprise.
The company said the information is presented in clear, graphical and easy to understand formats and can be tailored for the various constituencies in a corporation.
"Configuresoft's use of SQL Server 2000 Reporting Services demonstrates how the right business intelligence tools can automate time-consuming but critical functions such as security and operations policy compliance," said Tom Rizzo, director of product management for Microsoft SQL Server at Microsoft. "The combination of Enterprise Configuration Manager's deep repository of security and operations data with Reporting Services enables enterprises to easily audit, assess and manage the largest Windows-based IT infrastructures."
The company said Enterprise Configuration Manager with integrated SQL Server 2000 Reporting Services will be available in the second quarter of 2004
"SQL Server 2000 Reporting Services has enabled Configuresoft to easily deliver new dashboard reporting capabilities that simplify IT security and operations management as well as corporate compliance with government legislations like HIPAA and GLBA," said Randy Streu, vice president of product management for Configuresoft. "In addition, Reporting Services eliminates the need for our customers to purchase a third party reporting engine for Enterprise Configuration Manager, and reduces development costs for us by providing reporting capabilities that seamlessly integrate with our tool."
