Oct 11, 2005 : IXEurope Buys Frankfurt Data Center

📅 October 11, 2005 - Data center operator IXEurope (ixeurope.com) announced on Monday that it had acquired its third data center facility in Germany, the company's ninth facility. IXEurope acquired the data center for more than ?14 million. The facility comes with three customers with contracts worth ?17 million over the next five years.
 The new facility is based on a 56,500 square-meter campus in Frankfurt. Out of 36,800 square meters of data center space, 6,000 square meters will be immediately available. Guy Willner, chief executive officer of IXEurope, says the facility recently completed a substantial refit and provides capacity to meet the company's growing demand.  "This acquisition is a quantum leap forward for IXEurope," says Willner. "Not only is it the largest IXDatacentre to date for the Group but it puts us in a commanding position in the German market, for both data centers and for our growing business continuity services activity."  IXEurope owns and operates one data center in France, two in the UK and three in Switzerland.
