The diversely routed 1 GB wavelengths will connect Rackspace from IX Europe's (ixeurope.com) London West facility in Heathrow to Telehouse (telehouse.com) in the Docklands. The wavelengths will be provided over AboveNet's new London DWDM network and provisioned across completely separate routes in order to enhance the redundancy, speed and quality of their existing network, the company said. Rackspace will also connect to the AboveNet global IP backbone via Gigabit-Ethernet connectivity.

Rackspace said it is increasing its network capacity across the London in order to accommodate its increasing share of the UK managed Web hosting market.
