Jan 11, 2005 : Web Host Affinity Unveils Gate.com

📅 January 11, 2005 - Web hosting provider Affinity Internet (affinity.com -> hostinger.com) announced on Wednesday that it had officially launched the Gate.com (gate.com -> hostway.com) Web hosting brand.

Gate.com, which has been in beta testing since December, is focused on the more technically savvy segment of the Web hosting market, which includes designers and developers. Its solutions are designed to support mission-critical Web sites and applications.

Gate.com uses a clustered server platform to run hosting on both the Unix and Windows platforms. The platform also supports Web 2.0 services, including Windows ASP.NET 2.0, SQL, PHP and XML.

"Web hosting was the first product in Affinity's portfolio, and it's still a very important part of our business, that's why we continue to strive to create solutions based on the most advanced hosting technology at an affordable price," says Jim Collins, president of Affinity Internet. "However, we recognize the need to offer much more than just hosting to satisfy the needs of today's developer, which is why Gate.com also provides a full suite of advanced tools and Web services."

Affinity markets its hosting services under four different brands: ValueWeb, Bigstep, HostSave and WinSave. Gate.com, however, will replace the HostSave brand. The Hostsave.com Web site now redirects to Gate.com.
