👈 Official Responses: 0) will be showcasing the "World's Fastest Server"...by literally strapping a working server onto an electric drag bike capable of going from 0 to 120 mph in eight seconds.

At this year's South by Southwest Interactive Festival (sxsw.com), HostMySite's custom-built motorcycle will house an integrated server that distributes content and data to web pages while it accelerates down the track, according to the company's announcement this week. The bike is outfitted with web cams, GPS, an accelerometer and other sensors serving web data while in motion.

HostMySite created this project to showcase the talent and imagination of their employees, as well as the company's dedication to its customers. Visitors to the World's Fastest Server website (http://www.theworldsfastestserver.com/) are able to track the bike's progress from start to finish and will see live footage from the bike during SXSW, which runs from March 14 to 16 in Austin, Texas.

HostMySite supported employees who volunteered off-hours to create the "World's Fastest Server," under the direction of project leader Shawn Darby, who owns and manages Darby Customs, the Motorcycle shop that has been working to make this project a reality.

"It is amazing that our team, on their own time, can build an electric drag bike around a fully fabricated, load-balanced sever cluster in under three months," HostMySite chief executive officer Art Zeile said in a statement. "This project is an excellent showcase for the talent and the imagination that the employees at all levels of HostMySite bring to their work."
