👈 Official Responses: 0) has become the introduced the first major hosting provider to offer a customized professional migration service developed for the unique needs of dedicated, colocation and virtual private server clients.

According to the company's Friday announcement, the new service will be delivered by a professional services team, which will help customers migrate their sensitive infrastructure to a new HostMySite hosting environment. HostMySite originally launched a beta of their professional migration services in June 2008 with a program that has since performed more than 150 successful migrations.

"We're very excited to announce the professional migration service, which is our latest effort to make the customer experience at HostMySite as worry-free as possible," HostMySite operations assistant vice president Dave Malone said in a statement. "Our mission of 'Service Defined' begins before our customer's vital infrastructure is even transferred to us. We dedicate a team of seasoned web hosting professionals to plan and execute the migration to our state-of-the-art facilities and begin our relationship as a trusted technology partner."

HostMySite's professional services team provides assistance during each step of the migration process, creating a customized migration plan and timeline that fits each company's specific schedule. Once completed, migrations are rigorously tested ensuring the improved solution is configured correctly for optimal performance in their new environment.

HostMySite chief service officer and general manager Stacy Griggs said each customer is different, so every migration is tailored to suit them. "Our professional services team has developed an extensive methodology that encompasses discovery, migration planning, quality assurance and acceptance testing to ensure complete customer satisfaction," Griggs said in a statement.

With its new service, HostMySite is striving to remove the intimidation, stress and complexity normally associated with the migration process by becoming simply an extension of their customers' IT department, according to HostMySite professional services manager Dan Bogart. "Migrating infrastructure can be a very daunting task and we have helped hundreds of customers with this process," Bogart said in a statement. "It's through the rigors of these success stories that we have perfected a process that makes almost any infrastructure or website move seamless for a business."

Incidentally, in the same month the services were opened for beta testing, June 2008, HostMySite was bought by Wachovia Capital Partners (http://www.wachoviacapitalpartners.com/), the private equity arm of the Wachovia Corporation bank, which has since been purchased by Wells Fargo.
