Feb, 2009 : Consonus CTO Certified in Business Continuity

📅 February 17, 2009 - Data center operator and managed services provider Consonus Technologies (consonus.com) announced on Monday that chief technology officer Paul Penny is now a Certified Business Continuity Professional through DRI International (drii.org).

According to the press release, the certification shows that Penny has "proven his knowledge of the business continuity and disaster recovery planning process, his experience in this field, and his commitment to further grow as a professional."

In addition to holding the position of CTO, Penny is a principal consultant, CAS practice at Consonus.

He has over 20 years of IT experience spanning many platforms, industries and application areas, including serving as vice president and founder of Research Triangle Park Software and principal at Penny & Associates.

At Consonus, Penny is responsible for disaster recovery and business continuity consulting services, IT market analysis and IT business consulting strategy.

Since joining Consonus Technologies in 1990, Penny has led teams focused on computer aided design, technical publishing, product data management, enterprise document management, collaborative computing and enterprise portals.

Consonus' consulting and advisory services offer professional custom analysis and recommendations for businesses.

CAS is a set of professional services that ultimately identify and prioritize customer's requirements, map IT technologies and processes to business drivers, and deliver recommendations for improvement.

Its primary service categories are CAS assessment services which include storage, server, and disaster recovery and business continuity assessments; data center services which include Tier II, III and IV facilities, managed services, migration and relocation, consolidation, design and build; ITIL assessment; and security and performance which include vulnerability and application performance assessments and network penetration tests.

According to Midwest Real Estate News Reports and Darland, the Tier IV facility, located in Papillion, Nebraska, called the "Midlands Data Center," will be located on Alegent Health's Midlands Hospital campus.
