Toshiba Chooses Sphera HostingDirector to Manage Hosting Operations

📅 July 16, 2001 - Sphera Corporation (sphera.com) today announced that theiValue Creation Company (toshiba.co.jp/worldwide/about/2c-j_manage.html),one of the in-house companies of Toshiba, has selected SpheraHostingDirector to automate and manage its Web hosting business operations.

Sphera HostingDirector will enable iVC to streamline hosting processes andoffer new services and value-added applications throughout Toshiba'sregional offices, subsidiaries, and their many sites.
"Over the next three years, iVC has made a commitment to embracecutting-edge technologies such as Sphera HostingDirector that will createvalue and maximize inter-company efficiency throughout Toshiba,'' said Dr.Katsuhiko Yamashita, vice president & chief strategy officer of iValueCreation Company.
iVC was established in April 2000 to spearhead Toshiba's new Internet,e-commerce and mobile Internet hosting offering. The company is also awireless ASP for the Japanese and Asian market and currently provides accessfor several million consumers per day. As investment in data centeroperations inJapan rapidly expands, iVC and Toshiba plans to concentrate resources onproducts to gain competitive advantage in mobile applications andnetworking.
Sphera says its flagship product streamlines complex hosting processes,thereby reducing administrativecosts and delivering higher value to Toshiba.

Separately, Sphera has announced that it has entered into a partnershipagreement with Mitsui (mitsui.co.jp)under which Mitsui has become theexclusive distributor of HostingDirector in Japan. In the context of thisagreement, Mitsui will provide marketing and technical support to Toshiba aswell as the rest of the Japanese market.
