Micromuse's flagship Netcool/OMNIbus applicationsupports the Juniper M-Series of Internet backbonerouters through a set of Netcool probes and monitors,notably the Netcool Syslog and Netcool SNMP Trapdprobes. These Netcool probes gather status informationfrom Juniper Networks hardware devices and deliver itto the centralized Netcool ObjectServer database. Thissolution provides realtime monitoring across routersused in critical applications such as core routing,dedicated access, peering and data center hosting. This allows service providers to quickly identifyinfrastructure problems and better maintain the uptimeof network-based services.
Juniper Networks M-Series routers are highly scalableto accommodate growing bandwidth requirements and toenable multiple smart IP services without compromisingperformance. As these networks expand, theNetcool/OMNIbus application gives service providers asingle focal point for monitoring all new devices andIP services.
Using Juniper Networks JUNOScript applicationprogramming interface, Micromuse will also integrateits Netcool/Visionary and Netcool/Precisionapplications as well as its Netcool/Internet ServiceMonitors suite with the M-Series. TheNetcool/Visionary application is a network problemdiagnosis solution that provides realtime informationregarding why a fault occurred in the networkinfrastructure. Patented Netcool/Precision technologyprovides network auto-discovery and data paths. TheNetcool/ISMs suite helps monitor the availability,usability, and response times of Internet-based services.
