Aug 21, 2001 : Inflow Makes More Room for RuleSpace
📅 - InFlow, Inc. (inflow.com), a leading provider of Internet Data Centers and managed hosting services, announced today one of its first customers, RuleSpace (rulespace.com), has increased its cabinet space usage in Inflow's IDC by 200 percent, due in part to Inflow's customer service.
Current economic conditions have forced many technology companies tore-evaluate the costs of managing their Internet infrastructure in-house.Findings from a recent Robertson-Stephens e-commerce Infrastructure Servicesreport indicate companies save up to four times as much money whenoutsourcing co-location needs.
In early 2001, RuleSpace recognized these advantages to outsourcing andbegan searching for a local IDC that could provide cost-effective support toits servers as the company continued to grow. Since selecting Inflow,RuleSpace has doubled the size of its infrastructure.
"A number of IDCs supply power, reliability and network connectivity, but ittakes a different kind of company to provide the outstanding customerservice we have received at Inflow," said Peter Roberts, Internet operationsmanager for RuleSpace.
RuleSpace, an Internet infrastructure vendor, provides patented Web contentrecognition technology and services for powering Internet applications thatfilter, monitor, report and manage Web content. The company uses Inflow forco-location and the InflowNet service, which provides redundant, highperformance access to the Internet through multiple ISP backboneconnections. "Local presence, first-class customer service and around-the-clock support continue to be the driving forces behind the success ofour Portland IDC," said John Miailovich, Inflow's district sales manager inPortland. "Inflow's ability to satisfy customers' immediate needs has beendemonstrated by the support we've provided to RuleSpace during its highgrowth period."
The 40,000 square-foot Portland IDC was fully operational in November 2000.The IDC's technical staff holds certifications through Cisco, Microsoft andCheckPoint and is on site for round-the-clock customer assistance. Inflow'sPortland office employs 18 people.
