Under the agreement, Ardent will employ HostingDirector , Sphera'smarket-leading software, to automate its own hosting operations as well asresell HostingDirector's advanced features to their channel partners. ArdentCommunications, a provider of broadband access and bundled data services tobusinesses, hotels and public spaces nationwide, has embarked on a majorexpansion of their managed hosting business, and chose to partner withSphera in order to meet its expansion goals quickly and profitably.
Ardent says Sphera's software will fully automate Ardent's relationship withits customers, allowing Ardent to provide superior service at lower cost.Using HostingDirector's automation, Ardent's customers will now be able toprovision new accounts and add additional services without any interventionfrom Ardent. Current and next-generation hosting services, coupled witheasily added competitive applications, will also be managed by Sphera'sscalable technology.
"Through our relationship with Sphera, Ardent now has a competitiveadvantage over other hosting providers," said Peter Benedict, senior vicepresident of marketing for Ardent. "Quite simply, by teaming with Sphera andutilizing HostingDirector, Ardent will be able to grow revenue whilesubstantially decreasing its costs."
Ardent's customers will also have access to a feature-rich, competitivelypriced product that gives them the ability to quickly install newapplications, configure security controls, create new users, and modifytheir own DNS records. HostingDirector will also allow Ardent's resellersto brand and customize the end-user experience and easily add new features.Ardent anticipates that each customer will up-sell their own account valueby 40% through the addition of new products within 90 days of their initialprovisioning.
Ardent's customers will also have access to HostingDirector's palette ofplug-in applications, known as ValueApps, which allow customers to upgradetheir services as new applications emerge.
