Sep, 2001 : EDS and Enherent to Bring Managed Services to Mid-Markets

📅 September 24, 2001 - EDS (eds.com) and applications services expert enherent, Corp. (enherent.com) has announced a reseller agreement providing enherent's small-to-mid-sized customers with EDS Web hosting and high-end managed storage services.

The companies expect the agreement to generate $90 million in future salesover the next seven years.
"Ensuring Web sites and applications remain healthy and data is safe andavailable when needed is critical to hosting and storage in today'seconomy," said John Wilkerson, president of EDS' indirect market channelsdivision. "Our agreement with enherent will even the playing field for themiddle markets - markets that EDS doesn't usually serve. It provides themaccess to our robust Web hosting and high-end storage on demand as analternative to the co-located hosting they are usually forced to use."
As part of the agreement, a dedicated enherent sales team will offer itscurrent and prospective customers, with revenues in the $50-$500 millionrange, EDS' Web hosting and managed content storage on demand. EDS managedhosting services include robust monitoring and database services on avariety of hosting platforms.
EDS managed storage services include implementation, management andmaintenance, and are based on EDS' EMC Enterprise Storage system andsoftware.
"Through these services, enherent's customers will be able to store andreplicate content in a distributed environment while realizing thestability, security and dependability of EDS' hosting and managed storage.Our customers have expressed the need for stability, global reach andsuperior and systematic delivery from providers that manage their missioncritical Web sites, which EDS provides," said Dan Woodward, enherent'schairman and chief executive officer. "Our relationship with EDS expands ourportfolio to support our customers as their needs grow without constraintsof limited hosting and storage capabilities."
