Sep, 2001 : Dialtone Expands Fort Lauderdale Data Center

📅 September 25, 2001 - Dialtone Internet Inc. (dialtone.com), a leading providerof dedicated and co-location Web-hosting services, yesterday announced ithas completed an expansion and upgrading of its Internet Data Center in FortLauderdale to accommodate the company's growth.

The expanded facility will house additional Web servers and accommodateDialtone Internet's 67 employee staff, which has grown from 14members overthe last 18 months.
The company's Data Center now encompasses more than 14,000 square feet andhas additional electrical generators, security monitoring and surveillanceequipment, raised floors and a new temperature-controlled suite for Webservers with its own dedicated power supply.
"At a time when most Internet Data Centers are downsizing and struggling tostay in business, Dialtone Internet is continuing on a path of aggressivegrowth," said Alvaro Albarracin, chief executive officer of DialtoneInternet. "We're adding hundreds of new Web servers each month, and ourexpanded infrastructure and soon-to-be-opened Data Center in Europe willenable us to meet our customers' needs. We expect to continue on this pacewell into 2002."
Dialtone Internet also said it has purchased the domain name dialtone.comfrom Magnetic Corp. As part of its new branding strategy and focus on itsManaged Hosting solutions, Dialtone Internet has changed its Web address todialtone.com.
