Mar 12, 2002 : Digex Achieves SysTrust Certification

📅 March 12, 2002 - Digex, Incorporated (digex.com), a managed hostingprovider, today announced it has achieved SysTrust Certification aftercompleting a rigorous assessment of its production environment forsupporting customer Web operations.

Developed and administered by the American Institute of Certified PublicAccountants (AICPA), the SysTrust examination is designed to encompass fourkey principles (integrity, security, availability, and maintainability) andcriteria for system reliability. Ernst & Young LLP conducted Digex'sSysTrust examination.
From June 2001 through Jan. 2002, Ernst & Young's Technology and SecurityRisk assessment team examined Digex's assertions regarding the effectivenessof its controls over the security, availability and maintainability of itscustomer production environment against SysTrust criteria. Ernst & Young'sexamination determined that Digex's assertions are fairly stated in allmaterial respects, providing reasonable assurance that during the periodJune 1, 2001 to Dec. 31, 2001 the Digex customer production environment isprotected against unauthorized physical and logical access, available foroperation and use at times set forth in service-level statements oragreements, and able to deliver required updates while continuing to providesystem availability and security.
Performing successfully in the applicable scope of the examination, Digexearned the SysTrust certification. This third-party validationdifferentiates Digex as a service provider that has assessed potential risksand implemented requisite controls and processes in its systems for secure,reliable and continuous service delivery.
