MegaPath Networks Announces Industry?s First Agreement With National Network Broadband Providers
📅 - MegaPath Networks Inc., a broadband access and network services provider, announced today supplier agreements with a nationwide network of ILECs (Incumbent Local Exchange Carriers) and regional network operators, including: BellSouth, Pacific Bell/SBC Communications, and Verizon.
These suppliers will compliment the company's existing partnerships with leading national CLECs (Competitive Local Exchange Carriers) Covad Communications, Allegiance Telecom, New Edge Networks and IP Communications. MegaPath (megapath.net) will expand its broadband connectivity services to businesses and telecommuters, served by more than 3,200 unique Central Offices (COs).
Covering more than 95 percent of all metropolitan areas in the mainland United States and Hawaii, MegaPath will offer a variety of broadband services through these supplier arrangements, including business and telecommuter DSL, managed VPN, full and fractional T1 services.
According to a recent report by high-tech market research firm Cahners In-Stat, the total worldwide DSL installed subscriber base will generate more than $36 billion of revenue by 2005, with $21 billion coming from business DSL subscribers.
By partnering with a growing base of regional and national broadband suppliers, MegaPath is expanding its North American footprint to offer distributed business customers ?broadband ubiquity? and an array of value-added access and managed network services.
