Cable & Wireless Honored for Enterprise Hosting Market Leadership

📅 May 1, 2002 - International market consulting and training firm Frost & Sullivan said today it had awarded telecommunications firm Cable & Wireless (cw.com) its 2002 Market Engineering Leadership award.

In a new Frost & Sullivan market analysis titled "U.S. Web Hosting Report", Cable & Wireless was identified as the market leader in the large-enterprise Web hosting sector, accounting for 26 percent of the total revenues.
Frost & Sullivan also predicated that Cable & Wireless would "effectively manage" the process of integrating Exodus Communications in to its Web hosting service portfolio. Cable & Wireless purchased the bankrupt Web hosting firm for approximately $850 million in late 2001.
"Cable & Wireless' strategic acquisitions over the past year have provided the company with a top notch hosting infrastructure without the enormous debt load associated with the infrastructure build-outs of the 1990s," said Jarad Carleton, an industry analyst at Frost & Sullivan. "That situation bodes well for the future profit potential of Exodus."

(ixsystems.net) and server management software developer Plesk Software (plesk.com) announced on Tuesday the debut of their joint Domain Migration Program.
