Apr, 2002 : Redline Unveils Web Accelerators With SSL Encryption

📅 - Redline Networks (redlinenetworks.com), which specializes in Web I/O acceleration, yesterday unveiled three new products designed to remove TCP connection handling and HTTP scheduling from Web and cache servers in order to enhance server operations.

The new products, named the T|X 2000, T|X 2200 and T|X 2250, optimize and reduce Web payload in real-time, increase the speeds of page downloads, and contain SSL support as a standard feature.
"SSL provides secure and reliable end-to-end encryption for Web sites that require a high-level of security, such as banking sites and shopping sites," the company said in a release. "Redline Networks' T|X Accelerators offload SSL processing from Web servers, providing a significant performance boost to sites. A T|X Accelerator can maintain encryption from both the T|X to the user's browser and from the T|X to the server - allowing sites to serve secure content faster than ever before."
The company's T|X Web Accelerators also reduce network bandwidth through data filtering and compression, and lower required bandwidth needs for service providers by up to 50 percent.
All three appliances are all designed for rapid installation, with typical installation times of under one hour, and are designed for standard rack mounting in data centers.
