Apr, 2002 : C&W Enhances Dedicated Internet Access SLAs
📅 - Global telecommunications provider Cable & Wireless (cw.com) announced on Monday that it is introducing new enhanced service level agreements (SLAs) for its dedicated high-speed Internet access services over its global IP network.
The enhanced SLAs, says C&W, guarantee customers of the company's Internet Access and global.net services lower network latency within North America and Europe. Global business customers, says the company, will benefit from network latency provisions for extended routes between North America and Europe as well as between Europe and the Asia-Pacific region.
?Cable & Wireless has engineered its global IP network to deliver the highest quality performance and reliability for large enterprises, content providers and other service providers," says Andy MacLeod, chief operating officer, Cable & Wireless Global. "The strength of our global IP network enables Cable & Wireless to offer customers the strongest combination of performance, transparency and credible guarantees on price and service consistently around the world."
Cable & Wireless now offers a series of round trip latency guarantees for traffic within its global network, including guarantees of 50 ms for intra-Europe or intra-North America traffic, 100 ms for traffic from New York to London, 110 ms from Amsterdam, Brussels, Frankfurt and Paris to New York and Washington DC, 165 ms from San Francisco to Tokyo, 180 ms from San Francisco to Sydney and 310 ms from Amsterdam, Brussels, Frankfurt, London and Paris to Tokyo.
C&W also now offers customers of its Internet Access and global.net an SLA covering the availability of their local look connection. Together with the existing IP network availability, the new SLA will give customers quality assurance from the core C&W IP network to the local loop connection at the customer premises.
