May, 2002 : Viventures Employs KPNQwest Exchange Services
📅 - Pan-European data communications and hosting company KPNQwest (kpnqwest.com) announced on Thursday that it has deployed its Managed Exchange Services (MES) across three continents for venture capital management company Viventures Partners.
According to KPNQwest, the service, already operational in Europe, the US and Asia, is the first global offer since the MES product was launched with Microsoft and Compaq last year.
Hosted in KPNQwest CyberCentres, the Managed Exchange offer is used to support heavy e-mail usage, scheduling and public calendar. KPNqwest says that because the service is deployed across its IP VPN network, users benefit from a robust platform that can scale out rapidly on a pay-per-seat basis with their business requirements.
"We required a reliable network to enable our employees to stay in constant contact with our investors, technology and business partners anytime, from anyplace and at any location," says Pierre-Herve Naux, Chief Information Officer, Viventures Partners. "Being able to communicate between Paris and San Francisco in 62 milliseconds is the type of speed-of-light service quality we required."
The Managed Exchange's ?anytime, anyplace, anywhere? availability, says KPNQwest, is supported by the company's remote access offer, providing connectivity from over 13,000 points of presence in 150 countries. The service includes on-demand intranet and e-mail access to Viventures employees from remote locations around the world.
"Our global fiber-optic network seamlessly linked to our CyberCentres enables us to deliver a highly practical and cost-effective pay as you grow Managed Exchange solution for aggressive, fast-moving entities, such as Viventures Partners," says Joe Ferraro, head of Hosting and Media Solutions, KPNQwest. "Viventures will realise new efficiencies through accessing and sharing business-critical information across one unified platform."
