May, 2002 : Secure Computing Receives Excellence Award

📅 May 1, 2002 - Remote access control solution provider Secure Computing Corporation (securecomputing.com) announced on Tuesday that it received a Top Seven Excellence Award from Minnesota Project Innovation Inc. (MPI) for its performance in the Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) program at MPI's gala event held April 26 at the Minneapolis Hilton.

The MPI Top Seven Excellence Award, says Secure, is given to Minnesota companies that exemplify the goals and objectives of the SBIR program and have had success in their efforts to commercialize SBIR funded technologies. Recipients were selected from a field of over 100 companies.
"Secure Computing received this award in recognition for its dedication to SBIR program goals and objectives as outlined by Congress," says Pat Dillon, director of MPI's Technology Innovation Center. "Secure has a long history with the SBIR program and continues to demonstrate the value of the program for the transition of important technology to commercial products that benefit the government and private industry."
MPI connects Minnesota businesses with government opportunities for research and development, as well sales of products and services. Its Technology Innovation Center (TIC) provides business, marketing and technical assistance to technology companies that research, develop and commercialize technology products. The TIC also helps companies compete in the $1.2 billion federal SBIR and Small Business Technology Transfer programs.
Since the inception of the SBIR program, Secure has been awarded a total of 19 Phase I and Phase II SBIR contracts, which have enabled the company to add key features to its existing products, including current efforts targeting wireless security.
"Over the past several years, SBIR programs have contributed some significant technologies to our commercial product offerings," says Chris Filo, vice president and general manager of Secure's Advanced Technology Division. "The SBIR program is an extremely valuable resource to Secure Computing. Our success here clearly demonstrates our continued dedication to leveraging government investment in technology development into security solutions for today's demanding digital environments in both the federal and commercial marketplace."

(ixsystems.net) and server management software developer Plesk Software (plesk.com) announced on Tuesday the debut of their joint Domain Migration Program.
