May, 2002 : Hitachi Picks Avasta to Manage Infrastructure
📅 - Enterprise application management provider Avasta (avasta.net) announced on Thursday that it has been selected to manage the entire IT infrastructure for Hitachi Innovative solutions Corporation (hitachisolutions.net), a global systems integration specialist focused on state, local and municipal government clients.
The arrangement includes plans for a go-to-market partnership between the two companies, designed to offer complete integration and application management technology and services to HISC clients.
"We just completed the transition to Avasta's automated application management and have not missed a beat," says Mark Harrison, executive vice president and general manager of Hitachi Innovative Solutions Corporation. "With Avasta's technology, not only do they fully manage our applications, but we also receive end user support services and AutoFix capabilities for maximum uptime. This translates into significant cost savings for us, enabling us to focus on our clients and deliver similar value to them."
According to the deal, Avasta will assume responsibility for all HISC applications. HISC will receive system performance and uptime from Avasta's application management platform and Application Operations Center. Avasta will manage HISC's human resources, accounting and other internal collaborative applications. Technology components AutoFix and SynTran enable proactive maintenance so system issues can be detected and prevented before impacting business performance.
While the initial transition phase, says Avasta, focuses on the delivery of internal cost and resource advantages, the companies are looking forward to partnering on a long-term joint value proposition they can bring to the market using Hitachi's systems integration capabilities and Avasta's application management services.
