📅 September 25, 2002 - Integration software provider webMethods Inc. (webmethods.com) said on Wednesday that it is one of four companies named to Forbes magazine's "Best of the Web" list in the category of Web services development efforts.

webMethods says it is working to deliver on its promises about the value of Web services, among the industry leaders in driving toward a Web services-based integration framework that allows companies to build Web services without the need for time-intensive coding.
According to webMethods, Web services play an integral role in the company's efforts to help companies lower the cost of integration using industry standards with its integration platform. The company says its platform was built from its inception on a service-based architecture.
The company stayed at the forefront of Web services development as the technology gained support within the industry, pressing for the development and adoption of Web services standards.
