Oct, 2002 : Sage Releases September Confidence Index

📅 - Market research firm Sage Research Inc. (sageresearch.com) announced on Monday that it has released the results of its Sepember 2002 Service Provider Confidence Index (SPCI), showing a sharp rise in service provider expectations.

The SPCI, says Sage, measures and analyzes the current mood of telecommunications service providers, signaling to providers of equipment or solutions what their customers consider to be the present conditions in the industry and their expectations for the near future.
According to Sage, service provider expectations for the industry jumped 15 percent, the first rise in expectations since Sage began conducting the SPCI surveys in January of this year. At the same time, current conditions continued to slide, down 4 percent to their lowest point of the year.
"With the precipitous slide in expectations in the July 2002 SPCI, the sudden reversal of that index was a pleasant surprise," says Chris Neal, a research director at Sage Research, Inc. "Even the current conditions index, while continuing to drop, showed improvement in many categories, particularly overall industry conditions and spending on new product and service development."
