Oct 10, 2002 : Digex Appoints Additional Board Members
📅 - Managed hosting provider Digex Incorporated (digex.com) announced on Thursday that it has made several changes to its board of directors, including the resignation of Bert Roberts and Ron Beaumont, the appointment of additional directors Vinton Cerf, Wayne Huyard and Jon McGuire and the appointment of Bill Grothe as chairman.

"Vint brings us a long history of innovation with respect to network-based services; Wayne brings us extensive experience on how to sell services to target markets; and, Jon brings us a very deep financial planning background which ties in well with one of our strategic priorities: achieving financial independence."
Vinton Cerf is senior vice president if Architecture and Technology for WorldCom and co-designer of the TCP/IP protocol, used commonly today on the Internet. Cerf and his partner, Robert E. Kahn, were awarded the US National Medal of Technolgoy in December 1997 for founding and developing the Internet.
Huyard is president of MCI Mass Markets. During his 18 years with the company, Huyard has achieved industry-leading consumer market share growth and is credited with building the largest consumer sales organization in the industry.
McGuire is senior vice president of Business Operations for WorldCom Inc., with an extensive track record of building business plans for high growth industries. In more than a decade with the company, McGuire has won prestigious performance awards and served as vice president of Finance for the MCI Business Markets division and vice president of Business Operations for WorldCom Business Markets.
