Feb 19, 2003 : Port80 Partners for Web Server Security
📅 - Microsoft IIS Web server software solutions developer Port80 Software (port80software.com) announced on Tuesday that it has formed a distribution and consulting partnership with software, hardware and technical solutions provider Federal Systems Group, which will distribute Port80's IIS security software to its large base of Windows NT/2000-based clients.
The products Federal Systems Group will distribute include ServerMask, which hides the identity of a Windows Web server from hackers and malicious scripts, and the upcoming PageXchanger, that will remove file extensions from source code and URLs to provide a secure and powerful form of content negotiation.
"Port80 Software is excited to partner with Federal Systems Group and to support their corporate and government clients with our low cost, high impact Web server security products like ServerMask," said Joseph Lima, COO of Port80 Software. "Given the current focus on Web server security highlighted by the recent Sapphire/Slammer worm, organizations are looking to supplement existing security systems and infrastructures. Our software helps to anonymize a Web server, making it difficult for an attacker to identify a server's OS and Web server software -- then attempt an exploit."
