📅 March 4, 2003 - Internet performance monitoring solution provider Keynote Systems Inc. (keynote.com) announced on Monday that it has made a deal to supply its Web performance management services to outdoor gear and apparel retailer Recreational Equipment Incorporated (REI).

According to REI, site performance and stability are essential to the success of the company's online retail operations. The company says its Web site is an important part of its business, and Keynote's performance monitoring solutions are helping REI to deliver the level of performance it has set for its site.
REI.com has a number of impressive performance goals, including a one-second load time for its home page, three seconds on other pages and 100 percent uptime. The site's production and creative teams all use Keynote's benchmarking services, including the Web Site Perspective full-page service and Transaction Perspective to measure the time taken to complete transactions.
"REI's mission is to provide high quality goods and exceptional service," said Rod Ketchum, systems architect at REI. "Our Web presence is an important part of our business and it is critical that our Web site perform at optimal levels. That makes Keynote a daily necessity."
