📅 March 3, 2003 - Sockeye Networks (sockeye.com), a provider of route optimization services, today released a new version of its GlobalRoute service that allows companies to map Internet Service Provider (ISP) contract terms directly into cost-balancing network actions.

The software, titled GlobalRoute 3.0, provides service providers with strong control of bandwidth cost and performance in multi-provider networks.
GlobalRoute 3.0 provides the ability to directly map billing configurations into optimized routing decisions within a company's network while at the same time bringing "executive level visibility" to multiple-provider networks, the company says, enabling customers to track results back to the business level for cost and performance management.
"For companies who are multihomed, it's an inexact science at best to match bandwidth use to contract and billing tiers," said Valeri Marks, Sockeye's chairman and CEO. "By automatically mapping cost models to routing decisions, GlobalRoute 3.0 ends this ambiguity while new reporting modules provide executives visibility into cost and performance results."
